During the mid-'50s, Turner & his Kings of Rhythm rose to the top of the local R&B circuit in St. Louis. This 2014 collection of recordings for the Cobra label contains 22 tracks, there are no less than five alternate takes and eight unissued tracks. This is bold, scorching R&B that has more than a modicum of rollicking rock & roll in it's marrow. Betty Everett sings on four tacks and the standouts include "You Got to Lose," "I'll Weep No More (Matchbox)," & "Box Top." Includes 8 tracks previously unreleased on compact disc & liner notes by r&b expert Bill Dahl. Remastered from the original tapes.
