Curve Of The Earth reveals a band still flush with urgency and ideas. And crucially, there's now emotional punch to match the Londoners' deft melodic touch. Opener "Telemore" showcases this muscular maturation with it's pounding drums and kinetic riffs while the sublime "1985" and "The End Up" come matted with hard-earned feeling. Their knack for indie floor-fillers endears-"Bubblegum"'s pogoing riff is a life-affirming joy-but this is a band now emboldened by a more substantial and compelling purpose. The band claims that the album is a result of rediscovering their gang mentality, and could be their most personal recording to date. "We've been through quite a lot in the last couple of years," says guitarist Will Rees, "and there have been certain realizations that come with playing in a band that has been together for over two decades, I think these songs have real feeling about them."
