MAR's debut album THE SILENCE features Jimmy LaValle of The Album Leaf and Samuli Kosminen of Mm!!! Mar was founded by Kyle Reidy in early 2004. Patrick Atkinson (electric guitar), Nate Reed (electric guitar), and Claire Long (keyboards) were a part of Mar until April of 2005, after a tour with The Album Leaf. After the tour everyone went their own way; Kyle kept the band name (named after his mom, who dreamed ridiculous good dreams as she passed away of cancer in 1999) and will continue to make Mar albums and do live tours. 'The Silence' was recorded In Reykjavik, Iceland.
