This epic live radio broadcast captures ZZ Top at the very cusp of their worldwide success, recorded during the East coast leg of their 1980 breakthrough tour at the Capitol Theater in Passaic, New Jersey. The band also made a high-profile foray into Europe at this time; their performance on German TV's 'Rockpalast' being something of a landmark in the band's long history. In 1969, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Billy Gibbons formed ZZ Top in Houston. Within a year, after recording just one single (Salt Lick b/w Miller's Farm, 1969) the other original members were replaced by bassist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard. This trio have remained inviolate ever since.
