Yellow Magic Orchestra USA
YMO/Yellow Magic Orc
CD
Digitally remastered edition of the Japanese electronic trio's second album. Debut including a bonus disc of instrumental versions. This first YMO album was released in 1978 in Japan (1979 in Europe) and set a precedent in the music industry like never before. YMO shook the world with their synthpop with this daring album. At the time a revelation as well as a revolution. YMO made sure they created their own sound, being far ahead of their time (3 years before Kraftwerk). YMO were amongst the first to use a 'computer music composer', which was a programmed Roland MC-8 Microcomposer developed by Hideki Matsutake (composer, arranger and computer programmer). The trio mainly used electronic equipment on this album, only acoustic instruments used were a piano and marimba percussion set. This type of music making was never heard of before and set about a new movement within the music business style.
