2019 two CD set. Cole Porter began to achieve success in the 1920s, and by the 1930s he was one of the major songwriters for the Broadway musical stage. Unlike many successful Broadway composers, Porter wrote the lyrics as well as the music for his songs. This compilation features an all-star lineup of artists performing Cole Porter's greatest songs including 'Night & Day" by Billie Holiday, "Begin The Beguine" by Ella Fitzgerald, "I Get A Kick Out Of You", by Dinah Washington, "Well Did You Evah!" by Bing Crosby, and "I've Got You Under My Skin" by Shirley Bassey. Also includes songs by Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Louis Armstrong, Patsy Cline, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme and Dean Martin.
