(2-CD set) This double CD contains the soundtracks of 3 German films from 1970 by Czech director Zbynek Brynych: Die Weibchen (The Females), Oh Happy Day and Engel, die ihre Fluegel verbrennen (Angels with Burnt Wings). Composer Peter Thomas offers a colorful portfolio of themes: from a dramatic solo piano to alienated beer garden marches up to soul tracks filled with sonic hashish and solid grooves; variety is taken care of. More than half of the 61 tracks are previously unreleased. The box set comes with a 24-page booklet, including detailed liner notes by Christopher Klaese, presented in both English and German language, a filmography, and numerous full sized color film stills.
