Poor Leroy's Almanack
Tennessee Mafia Jug
CD Rel Date: 2011-11-15
From the pastoral hills, hollers, shopping malls and interstate highways of Goodlettsville Tennessee, home of Bill Monroe, Bashful Brother Oswald, Stringbean, Grandpa Jones, Keith Whitley and some living country music performers, comes the most entertaining "blast from the past" since Lester Moran and the Cadillac Cowboys. They're the Tennessee Mafia Jug Band - five guys and a scrub board, with roots like wisdom teeth. Recorded at the world famous Butcher Shoppe with the Grammy winning engineer, David "Fergie" Ferguson at the helm, with additional recording at TreeO Studios with neighbor Tim Carter at the controls. It is the second CD that the Jug Band has released and it is a good one. Titled "Poor Leroy's Almanack" it has some favorites and one new recording of the crowd favorite, "Bicycle Wreck".
