In the spring and summer of 2011, along with fellow band mates Tim D Eon and Loel Campbell, Samuel began recording his debut solo effort First Transmission. Regina band Rah Rah was in Montreal with a day off from tour and Erin Passmore was kind enough to lend vocals to two songs. Musically these are a collection of pop songs which build on very few chords with scrappy instrumentation and playful vocal harmonies. First Transmission is as focused on the singer/songwriter aspects of making a solo record as it is in adding layers textures to simple arrangements.
