Noted country & western swing sideman Howard Kalish finally releases his own recording, an exciting mix of new and old tunes he calls "What the Hey." for 15 years he played fiddle and guitar with the incomparable and intercontinental Don Walser's Pure Texas Band (featured on this CD), and has also performed with Hank Thompson, Ray Price, Johnny Bush and Cornell Hurd. He's joined on "What the Hey" by special guest vocalist Don Walser (on 3 songs) and an ensemble of great Austin musicians including Scott Walls, Skinny Don Keeling, Philip Fajardo and many others.
