This new Cornell Hurd Band CD is another amazing product from "The Pride of South Austin, Texas." Hard core honky-tonk, Western Swing, truck drivin' music and gritty rock and roll make this latest installment in the CHB odyssey perhaps their best record to date. The band rocks hard and writes great originals, including the title track (a hypnotic instrumental done in two distinctly different styles), "We're Not Married Anymore" and the over-the-top boogie "If You Play with My Mind You're Gonna Get Your Hands Dirty". Covers include a cross section of American genius by artists like Frogman Henry, Red Simpson, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Lalo Guerrero and Frankie Miller (who guests stars singing "Dim Lights, Thick Smoke").
