The Tonight Show and The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour invited this utterly unique "mime-rock" band and their painted faces onto their stages (and they toured with Todd Rundgren in the '70s). They made four LPs for Phillips and ABC-Dunhill; this one ('68) is easily the best: the antiwar Anthem (banned on many radio stations) plus Jelly Jam; Pray for Rain; Come and See Me, and more jazz-tinged psych-folk.
