Heading for Tomorrow - Anniversary Edition 2CD [Compact Disc]
Gamma Ray
CD Rel Date: 1994-10-04
The important parameters for a golden future were all set when Gamma Ray’s debut record “Heading For Tomorrow” was released in February of 1990. Two years previously, Kai Hansen had announced his departure from Helloween without revealing any of his plans for the future, but it quickly became clear that Hansen was ready to bring a new project to life. Hansen already had most of the material for the first release up his sleeve and found his other band members in Ralf Scheepers, Uwe Wessel and Mathias Burchardt. After hearing the classic “Gamma Ray” by a German rock band and learning that Gamma rays in fact have the most energy of all waves in the electromagnetic spectrum – the band name was decided as well. And their debut record delivered: Especially in Japan, the album was extremely popular, and many more should follow afterwards. In 2015, Gamma Ray started to re-release their catalogue together with earMUSIC to celebrate Gamma Ray’s 25th Anniversary. The Anniversary edition of “Heading For Tomorrow” featured a bonus CD full of live versions, instrumentals and demos – and is now available as Brilliant Box edition for an attractive price. Find out where Gamma Ray started – and enjoy a deep dive into their debut record.
