Big Blue Ball is an album of international collaborations which grew from recording sessions at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios in the early 1990s. An all-star cast took part in writing songs, making music and being part of the powerful sense of community that made the so-called Recording Weeks so creative and fruitful. Vocalists including Joseph Arthur, Natacha Atlas, Peter Gabriel, the Holmes Brothers, Sinead O'Connor, Iarla O Lionaird and Papa Wemba are backed by an impressive mix of Western, African and Asian musicians and the album is produced by Peter Gabriel, Karl Wallinger and Stephen Hague.
