After a fantastic 2013, this year only gets better for Helen Chambers, the Yorkshire-based singer/songwriter with the release of her debut album Penny Arcade. The album has been a long time coming and follows the release of a split EP with CHUCK RAGAN (Hot Water Music), SAM RUSSO and JIMMY ISLIP also released by Specialist Subject in 2011. Penny Arcade, once again, sees CHAMBERS collaborating with RAGAN as well as double bass player Joe Ginsberg (CHUCK RAGAN, BAYWOOD), DEAR EVERYONE band mates El Morgan and Kelly Kemp. Morgan Brown (DOWN & OUTS) and Paul Abbott (GOOD GRIEF) played guitar and piano, respectively, and produced the album over "a couple of long weekends" in Liverpool. The result captures CHAMBERS' take on traditional country, folk and Americana whilst maintaining a distinctly English sound.
