Violence, Violence [LP]
Ceremony
LP Rel Date: 2014-12-05
Ceremony is a full scale musical riot spawned from the rotting corpse of Northern California hardcore. Akin to a musical sledgehammer, they are sonically crude, violent, and undeniably destructive in their approach. A throwback to the early days of hardcore, when it was defined by pessimism, misery, and was a true haven for the downtrodden. In their few years of existence, Ceremony have become as popular as they are antisocial, heralded by many worldwide as one of the best hardcore/punk bands to surface in the last decade. After a well received demo and their Ruined EP which sold 2,000 copies in less than a year, Ceremony delivered Violence Violence in 2006, their 13 song debut full length. If Ruined was their declaration, Violence Violence is their first wave assault, a soundtrack to wage war. A war against everything that hardcore has stood against, but now has been co-opted into it's ranks. There's no TRL song on here, there's nothing that'll be heard at a school dance. This is hardcore for the hardcore!
