The Bo-Keys are the contemporary evolution of the Memphis funk and soul sounds of Stax/Volt and Hi Records. "Got to Get Back" is a snapshot of the group in the studio, jamming on instrumentals in the tradition of Booker T & the MGs and Willie Mitchell and backing up some of their favorite vocalists such as Otis Clay, William Bell and Charlie Musselwhite who make guest appearances on the album.
