Kathy McCarty is an American art rock songwriter, musician, and painter who became a cornerstone of the vibrant indie college rock circuit in Austin, Texas during the 1980s and 1990s. She is widely celebrated for her work as the front-woman of the indie band Glass Eye and for her critically acclaimed solo tributes that helped introduce the music of outsider artist Daniel Johnston to a global audience.
