The LP package for the McGarrigle Hour includes a set of liner notes from album producer, Joe Boyd, which he penned especially for this LP release (excerpt of these liner notes included below). \"In the late '90s, I was suffering from McGarrigle withdrawal. Hannibal had licensed a number of their recordings and our paths often crossed, but I hadn't been in the studio with them since 1977 and I craved that experience again. Having convinced them that this was a good idea, we started filling out the lineup. Kate's precocious kids Rufus and Martha were joined by cousins Lily and Sylvan Lanken and their Dad Loudon Wainwright III.
