Vinyl LP pressing. Austin, Texas-based singer-songwriter and former frontman of The Ugly Americans and The Scabs, Bob Schneider has become one of the most celebrated musicians in the live music capital. Combined with his scruffy good looks and diverse musicals styles, Schneider's talent has defied genres. Combing elements of funk, country, rock, and folk with the more traditional singer/songwriter aesthetic, Schneider draws inspiration from the '70s with a modern twist reminiscent of Beck. His powerful lyrics tackle tough subjects about alienation, drug addiction, and lost romance. Schneider has won more than 59 Austin Music Awards including Best Album, Best Songwriter, Best Musician, and Best Male Vocals making him the most decorated artist in Austin music history. Schneider's fan base reaches far beyond the city limits of Austin. He started gaining national recognition when released 2001's Lonelyland, his major-label debut for Universal Records, followed by 2004's I'm Good Now. Since leaving Universal, Schneider went on to release more award-winning albums under Vanguard and began releasing "side projects" on his label, Shockorama Records. He has released more than a dozen albums and doesn't plan on slowing down anytime soon.

Ever since childhood, learning to play various instruments in a suburban Cincinnati basementalongside his brother Bryce, Aaron Dessner has consistently sought an emotional outlet and deephuman connection through music - be it as a primary songwriter in The National, a founder andarchitect of beloved collaboration-driven music festivals, or collaborator on two critically acclaimedand chart-topping Taylor Swift albums recorded in complete pandemic-era isolation at his LongPond Studio in upstate New York, among many other projects. Through it all, Dessner has broughttogether an unlikely community of musicians that share his impulse to connect, celebrate and, mostof all, process emotion and experience through music. This generous spirit and desire to push music forward has never been more deeply felt than on BigRed Machine's "How Long Do You Think It's Gonna Last?," the second album from Dessner's evermorphing project with Bon Iver's Justin Vernon. In 2008, while assembling material for the charitycompilation "Dark Was the Night," Dessner sent Vernon a song sketch titled "big red machine".Vernon interpreted "big red machine" as a beating heart and finished the song accordingly - ametaphor Dessner says "still sticks with me today. This project goes to many places and is alwayson some level about experimentation, but it shines a light on why I make music in the first place, which is an emotional need. It's one of my therapies and one of the ways I interrogate the past." Released in 2018, Big Red Machine's self-titled debut album evolved from improvisation and whatDessner calls "structured experimentalism," with an ear toward building tracks that would work wellin a live setting alongside visual elements. When Dessner and Vernon started the Eaux Claires MusicFestival in 2015, they staged the original "Big Red Machine" as an improvisation-based performancepiece. They later took that show to the PEOPLE collective's Berlin residency and festival, and toDessner's Haven Festival in Copenhagen. "Big Red Machine started as this thing we would do forfun, and we fell in love with the feeling of it," says Dessner." Vernon agrees: "I remember it feelingreally easy, but we never knew what would happen. It was exciting. As time went on, we just keptdoing things together. And our friendship has grown strong, alongside all the collaborative stuff."New Big Red Machine material began taking shape in spring 2019, when Vernon cameto visit Dessner at Long Pond. The first week produced songs such as "Reese," "8:22am"and eventual album opener "Latter Days," a haunting number sung by Vernon and AnaïsMitchell that set the emotional tenor for what was to come. "It was clear to her that theearly sketch Justin and I made of Latter Days was about childhood, or loss of innocence andnostalgia for a time before you've grown into adulthood - before you've hurt people or lostpeople and made mistakes. Anaïs defined the whole record When she sang that, as these same themes kept appearing again and again," Dessnersays. In the ensuing months, Vernon and Dessner would meet up when they could, and inthe meantime, Dessner developed the existing material and wrote new instrumental trackswhich he sent Vernon, always eager to hear what he would receive back. "Justin is incredibly gifted, but he's also disruptive in the best way," says Dessner, pointingto the first note of the song "Birch" as a prime example. "It's absolutely brilliant, but it wasvery surprising when I heard it the first time. I can't tell you what that interval is. There aremany moments working with him where your head hits the wall in amazement like that." In the early stages of the pandemic, Swift approached Dessner to work with her on whatwould become the sister albums "folklore" and "evermore." Dessner describes this periodas a "creative blur," during which he'd be writing material for Swift and Big Red Machinesimultaneously. "I think this was an intense growing period for me, I was learning so muchfrom Taylor and the process. Along the way, I shared all of our unfinished Big Red Machinesongs with her and she really found them inspiring and gave me so much positive feedbackand encouragement," he says. "I think that helped me realize how connected this Big RedMachine music was to everything else I was doing and that I was always supposed to bechasing these ideas. I was finding new sounds and ways of working through these songs. Ijust hadn't been able to finish them. So, I did." Beyond Vernon and Swift's encouragement, many of Dessner's previous collaborators andfriends show up for him here, continuing the reciprocal exchange of ideas that has cometo define his creative community. Songs feature guest vocals and writing contributionsfrom artist friends including Fleet Foxes' Robin Pecknold ("Phoenix"), Ben Howard andThis Is The Kit ("June's a River"), Naeem ("Easy to Sabotage'), Sharon Van Etten, LisaHannigan and My Brightest Diamond's Shara Nova ("Hutch," a tune inspired by Dessner'slate friend, Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison) and Swift herself ("Birch" and"Renegade," the latter an instant-classic Taylor earworm summed up by the poignant lyric"Is it insensitive for me to say / get your shit together so I can love you." The song wasrecorded in Los Angeles at the Kitty Committee studio in March 2021, the same week whenSwift and Dessner took home the GRAMMY for Album of the Year for "folklore.") "This is all music I generated, but it is interesting to hear how different people relate toit, or how different voices collide with it," Dessner says. "That's what makes it special. Witheveryone that's on this record, there's an openness, a creative generosity and an emotionalquality that connects it all together." As he continued writing prolifically on his own, Dessner noticed a theme emerging - theidea of sitting with the uncomfortability of personal and family darkness from his childhoodand reflecting on how emotional issues he dealt with growing up have reverberated throughhis adult life. It became clear that some of these he'd need to sing himself; songs such as"The Ghost of Cincinnati" and "Magnolia" address the disintegration of marriage and familyand mental health, asking pointed questions of himself and those closest to him. "Brycie"is an ode to his aforementioned twin and National bandmate, who picked up on the musicalvibes immediately when Dessner played the song for him for the first time backstage at aNational show in Washington D.C. "He picked along to it with me and it immediately sounded like Aaron and Bryce playingthe guitar in the basement as kids, which was my intent," Dessner remembers. "The wordsmean a lot to me. It's about my childhood with Bryce, and how I had pretty severe depressionin high school. He was the one who kept me going and took care of me until I was back onmy feet. I've lost close friends to depression and this song is about how important it was thatBryce was there for me at that time and is still here." In addition to being one of the morelyrically significant tracks on the album, Dessner says singing it himself felt like an importantact of self-acceptance. "I always sing under my breath when I write music, but I usually hand it off to [Nationalvocalist] Matt [Berninger] or others" he says. "When you're in a band for so long andsomebody else is that person, you come to rely on it and I've always loved Matt's voice andhis words. But singing 'Brycie' myself helped rewire my brain to realize that maybe Big RedMachine is the project that not only enables me to create songs with other people, but alsosometimes finish songs on my own." Recalling sessions at Sonic Ranch in Texas when Dessner recorded his vocal takes, Vernonsays, "Aaron showed me 'Brycie' a couple years ago now. I was like, this is beautiful, and youshould do

Rage, confusion, despair, self-deception, and introspection—Madi Diaz cycles through the full spectrum of emotions on History Of A Feeling, her debut on ANTI-. It’s an album that undeniably marks Diaz’s status as a first-rate songwriter, a craft she’s spent years refining, and one wherein Diaz establishes herself as an artist capable of distilling profound feelings with ease.

Diaz pulls from a range of folk, country, and pop leanings—she is as much influ- enced by Patty Griffin and Lori McKenna as she is the sonics of PJ Harvey and di- rectness of Kathleen Hanna. On History Of A Feeling, the Nashville based songwriter comes to terms with the dissolution of a meaningful relationship. By the end of it, she wills herself into a self-reflective state where she doesn’t hate herself for being so heartbroken.

The songs on History Of A Feeling, are the most direct and introspective songs Diaz has ever written. In the few times she’s gotten to perform them live in front of an audience, Diaz describes the experience as one where she feels acutely present even though she’s singing about emotions that started to take root years ago. It’s relatable to anyone who has experienced heartbreak and great change in some manner, and this profound sense of intimacy and camaraderie she seamlessly weaves into the songs was important to her. “I wanted it to sound conversational, like I had just walked over to your house and we’re sitting and at the end of your driveway talking—just like we’re hashing it out in the same way that you’d call a best friend at one in the morning because you needed to talk about what just happened.”

Formed in 1992, Boris boldly explores their own vision of heavy music, where words like "explosive" and "thunderous" barely do justice. Using overpowering soundscapes embellished with copious amounts of lighting and billow smoke, Boris has shared with audiences across the planet an experience for all five senses in their concerts, earning legions of zealous fans along the way. Furiously recorded in the early days of the covid-19 pandemic and surprise-released in July 2020, NO was met with immediate and widespread praise. Meant to serve as a mirror that redirects the negativity of the global lockdown to something more positive, the content on NO can be characterized as “extreme healing music”. Musically, it draws from influential noise-heavy hardcore group Gudon, even including a cover of their song “Fundamental Error”. NO is a classic hardcore thrash record and is one of the band’s strongest efforts from start to finish. This will also serve as the release of NO on streaming services worldwide. "Their most compelling album in more than a decade." - Pitchfork

LA-based rockers The Bronx return for their sixth studio album 'Bronx VI’, produced by Joe Baressi (Tool, Bad Religion, Melvins). The album, which builds on the legacy the band has established in its near two-decade existence, but which definitely proves the door to what’s next has not just been kicked down, but chopped up and burned to a cinder. Yes, the first four tracks – “White Shadow”, “Superbloom”, “Watering The Well” and “Curb Feelers” – bristles with the wild and untamed energy that’s defined the band from the off, but then – all of a sudden, as “Peace Pipe” kicks in – the pace and mood shifts to something a little less aggressive. Elsewhere, “Mexican Summer” and its (relatively) chilled-out mariachi vibes serve as an homage to the band’s alter-ego, Mariachi El Bronx (and was written while that incarnation of the band was on tour), while fatalistic closer “Participation Trophy” masks the Caughthran’s existential dread behind searing riffs and a catchy, defiant and exuberant melody.

Artists like Rodney Crowell and Steve Earle studied under the watchful eye of Clark during their early years. Like friend Townes Van Zandt before him, Clark is a master storyteller, a dream weaver blessed with the ability to match ear-catching melodies with poetic lyrics that aim for the deepest part of the listener's soul. Somedays the Song Writes You, Clark's eleventh studio album, is a well-crafted collection of compositions that rank among some of his best. Clark's tobacco-and-whiskey-stained voice has never sounded better. "The Coat," one of many standout tracks on the disc, is a simple reflection on a bad morning - that comes after a night of drinking and no sleep - and turns into an even worse day when rain and cold threaten to muddy the main character's mind even more than it already is. Somedays the Song Writes You is another choice album from one of the greatest songwriters to ever come out of the state of Texas.

Kerber is a new chapter in Yann Tiersen's career - if Portrait was revisiting & reassessing the past, Kerber draws a line under that and looks to the future. Both a follow up to EUSA and an album unlike any Yann has made before. Kerber takes its name from a Chapel in a small village on Ouessant. Influenced by the close geographical area around him, each track is tied to a place, mapping out the direct landscape around Yann’s home. Rather than being a reflection on isolation, the record is an expression of being conscious of your own direct environment and your place within it. The album takes the solo piano themes from EUSA and marries them with electronics. The electronic samples are enhanced by the acoustic elements - it’s the reverse process to what Yann has done before. This is a piano-centred electronic album.

Ephat Mujuru exemplifies a unique generation of traditional musicians inZimbabwe. Born under an oppressive colonial regime in Southern Rhodesia, his generation witnessed the brutality of the 1970s liberation struggle, and then the dawn of independent Zimbabwe, a time in which African music culture—long stigmatized by Rhodesian educators and religious authorities—experienced a thrilling renaissance.

Under the tutelage of his grandfather, who was a respected spirit medium and mbira master, Ephat showed an early talent for the rigors of mbira training, playing his first possession ceremony when he was just ten years old.

By then, guerilla war was engulfing the country and his grandfather Muchatera tragically became a victim of the violence, a devastating blow to the young musician. In the midst of the liberation struggle, mbira music became political.

Eventually, the Rhodesians were defeated, but rather than return to the past, the nation of Zimbabwe was born and a new future unfolded. Ephat threw himself into the spirit of independence, singing of brotherhood, healing, and unity: crucial themes during a time when the nation’s two dominant ethnic groups, the Shona and the Ndebele, were struggling to reconcile differences.

Ephat’s band would eventually follow the popular trend and add electric instruments. But before that, he and Spirit of the People released two all-acoustic albums, and they may well be the most exciting and beautiful recordings he made in his career. Mbavaira, the second of these albums, was released in 1983.

As the independence years moved on, there would be fewer and fewer commercial mbira releases. But for the moment, Ephat had the required stature and reputation. Also, with the energy and drive we hear in these recordings, and the unmistakable lead vocals by his Uncle Mude—truly one of the greatest mbira singers of the 20th century—the album could easily rival the pop music of its day.

Within a few years after the release of Mbavaira, it and albums like it became harder to find in Zimbabwean record stores. Ephat adapted to the times and formed an electric band. Hey recorded more albums over the years but none of them have the particularly delicious energy of Spirit of thePeople in the first years of Zimbabwe’s independence.

Runnner’s Always Repeating yearns for a sense of place. The project of the now LA-based songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Noah Weinman, Runnner’s poignant reflections on the isolation and anxiety caused by a sense of rootlessness radiate with wit and charm. Self-produced and recorded wherever he called home at the time, Always Repeating documents this cycle of looking back and moving forward, of alienation changing to reconciliation. For Weinman, Runnner is primarily a solo endeavor with an ever-expanding musical community of musicians collaborating on his albums and shows, which at times have been known to feature up to a 7-piece live band (he also has a burgeoning career as a producer, notably working on Skullcrusher’s critically acclaimed debut EP for Secretly Canadian). Weinman completed Always Repeating last fall in Western Massachusetts and Woodstock using a mobile studio set-up. He played the majority of the instruments himself, including guitar, bass, trumpet, banjo, piano and synth. The goal was to create the perfect balance of intimate and melancholy songwriting through the lens of hi-fi/lo-fi dynamics, inspired by his favorite artists like Bon Iver, the Microphones, and Julien Baker.

The 10-track collection is composed of five re-recorded versions of songs that appeared on Runnner’s 2017 debut, Awash, and 2020’s One of One EP. Although the songs were written over the course of three years, all find Weinman grappling with the same thing: feelings of uncertainty about his life. Always Repeating ultimately tells the start of Weinman’s journey as Runnner, and his cyclical feelings of being connected and then disconnected from the world over and over again.

Born in the town of Scunthorpe in 1981, English singer/songwriter Stephen Fretwell was introduced to the music of Bob Dylan at a young age. Using a borrowed guitar from his grandparents, the young artist began writing his own songs and made tapes for his family and friends. After an aborted attempt at university life -- he lasted two days -- Fretwell relocated to Manchester, where his clear northern voice, poetic lyrics, and melodic guitar work soon won him an audience. After landing a much sought-after opening gig with local heroes Elbow, the now 21 year old began releasing his music on a friend's Northern Ambition label. 8 Songs, the Something's Gotta Give EP, and The Lines, all released between 2001 and 2003, became collector's items and brought Fretwell to the attention of the press. He signed to Fiction Records in 2003 and released his first full-length, Magpie, in 2004, recorded at Abbey Road studios in London. Fretwell recorded the follow-up to his debut album, Man on the Roof, in New York City; it was released in 2007. Busy Guy is the first new music in 13 years.

“Everything has to be said.” This is the conviction guiding Indigo De Souza’s sophomore album, Any Shape You Take.  This dynamic record successfully creates a container for the full spectrum—pushing through and against every emotion: “I wanted this album to give a feeling of shifting with and embracing change. These songs came from a turbulent time when I was coming to self-love through many existential crises and shifts in perspective.”

Faithful to its name, Any Shape You Take changes form to match the tenor of each story it tells. “The album title is a nod to the many shapes I take musically. I don’t feel that I fully embody any particular genre—all of the music just comes from the universe that is my ever-shifting brain/heart/world,” says Indigo.  This sonic range is unified by Indigo’s strikingly confessional and effortless approach to songwriting, a signature first introduced in her debut, self-released LP,  I Love My Mom. Written in quick succession, Indigo sees these two records as companion pieces, both distinct but in communion with each other: “Many of the songs on these two records came from the same season in my life and a certain version of myself which I feel much further from now.
“I feel very much like a shape-shifter with my music, I’m always trying to embody a balance between the existential weight and the overflowing sense of love I feel in the world.” It is exactly this balance that Indigo strikes in her Saddle Creek debut, Any Shape You Take. A listening experience that gives back, as you shed and shape-shift along with her.

Donna says, “I got to a point in writing the album that I had said everything I wanted to say about someone else fucking up. I wanted to talk about the role I played in letting something consume me and burn me down. In ‘Let You Let Me Down,’ I'm addressing that I need to change too, so I don't rebuild myself the same way but come back from it stronger and better.” Capitol Cuts – Live From Studio A features artists’ one-take performances, recorded direct to vinyl at Capitol Studios in Hollywood.

"Everything from the stage to the sound to the visuals were killer… a beautiful two-hour venture. TesseracT should be very proud of themselves for delivering such an immense quality of work for their fans during these unfortunate times” - Metal Insider

Following on from 2018’s critically acclaimed studio album, Sonder, the band, in the midst of a global pandemic decided to come together to present P O R T A L S – a cinematic live experience like no other. The band took livestreams to a new level by interspersing a conceptual storyline with their live performances that featured an arena-style light show.

TesseracT are a band that sit outside the bounds of any genre specificity, pioneers of the ever-evolving rock and metal scene, with an unstoppable force of off-kilter riffs, soaring melodies and disorientating atmospherics. They put all of this into the December 2020 event that featured the band performing songs spanning their entire catalog. Highlights included “Nocturne" off their 2010 debut EP, Concealing Fate and continued with “Eden” (One, 2011), "Of Matter” (Altered State, 2013), “Tourniquet” (Polaris, 2015), and “King” (Sonder, 2018), with the whole performance capturing 14 songs over 2+ hours.

Bass player Amos Williams explains more about the event and the concept behind it: “P O R T A L S is a celebration of our love of performing. Each act is a still from an ever-evolving musical personality. Each song is the conversations you have with old friends when you meet up for the first time in ages and you pick up exactly where you left off.”

Now, Kscope are proud to present this unique event to a wider audience for the first time. The film and soundtrack will be issued on an array of formats including Blu-Ray, Triple LP soundtrack and Deluxe Book Edition.

Along with the release of the livestream event, the band will be playing their first live shows in almost two years this November and December supporting Trivium in the UK and Europe, as well as returning to North American shores in 2022.

“The quality of the audio and visuals provide testament to TesseracT’s statement that the performance represents their biggest production to date" – Prog/ Louder Sound

Currently, there is a bleak outlook on global ecology. With glaciers melting at an alarming rate and wildfires decimating over 6 million acres of forest each year, it is clear; we as a species are running out of time to rectify our planet's destructive direction. Italian ambient duo ILUITEQ has composed their second album, aptly titled The Loss of Wilderness, echoing our current ecological situation's sentiment. By way of meticulously crafted subterranean ambient utilizing guitars, piano, and a myriad of synthesis techniques, the duo of Sergio Calzoni and Andrea Bellucci create arcadian movements in memory of landscapes destroyed by humanity's negligence. A strong yet bucolic statement from one of the newest additions to the n5MD roster.

Sacramento songwriter Tré Burt’s sophomore album, You, Yeah, You, is a narrated collection of songs featuring a cast of invented characters; heroes, villains, those destitute of salvation and those seeking it. This is Burt’s second release on Oh Boy Records, the label founded by the late John Prine who signed the songwriter in the fall of 2019. On You, Yeah, You, Burt teamed up with Brad Cook (Bon Iver, Waxahatchee, Nathaniel Rateliff) to create the album that reads like twelve rounds in a ring, summoning the will to fight the unknown rather than surrender to fear and fatigue. You, Yeah, You is a cohesive body of work that clearly illustrates the ever expanding space in which Tré Burt’s voice belongs.

Produced by John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Kurt Vile,) at The Building in Marlboro, NY, Laura Stevenson is an altogether beautiful record, a sincere portrait of a human heart in all it's vibrant colors. Abounding with musical creativity, confident songcraft, and deeply felt emotion, BE THE LOVE YOU WANT marks the GRAMMY-nominated SOUTHERN AVENUE's most ingenious and personal effort thus far, marrying soul power and jam band liberation, gospel blues and righteous R&B, to craft their own timeless brand of American music.

BE THE LOVE YOU WANT, produced by multi-GRAMMY winner Steve Berlin (Los Lobos, Deer Tick, Jackie Greene) and co-Produced by Ori Naftaly, showcases an exhilarating, and deeply emotional collection of songs that captures all of the shared experiences that bring us together-joy and sorrow, unity and separation, love and hate. The Memphis, TN-based band's third studio recording sees SOUTHERN AVENUE pushing themselves towards bold new ideas of what it means to be a blues band in the modern world, bending and reshaping their musical heritage with electrifying performance, vivid production, and a remarkably clear vision. Operating from their distinctively international vantage point, SOUTHERN AVENUE has produced a wide-ranging collection of original music-predominantly co-written by Israeli-born guitarist Ori Naftaly and powerhouse lead vocalist Tierinii Jackson-that links them to their home city's glorious past while at the same time, demonstrates their ambitious intent to evolve Memphis music to contemporary effect. Perhaps the album's most surprising collaboration is "MOVE INTO THE LIGHT," a churning, funk-blasted burner co-written with 2X GRAMMY Award-winning pop superstar Jason Mraz and producer/songwriter/musician Michael Goldwasser (Easy Star All-Stars).

With BE THE LOVE YOU WANT, SOUTHERN AVENUE continue driving the Southern soul legacy into the 21st century, preserving its glory and tradition while striving towards something diverse, universal and altogether their own

Children Collide’s long-awaited fourth studio album has arrived. Their repertoire includes some of the most well-loved Australian singles of the past decade, including triple j hottest 100 entries Farewell Rocketship, Jellylegs and My Eagle. A live phenomenon, Children Collide have played sets at SXSW, The Great Escape, Splendour in the Grass and the Big Day Out as well as headline shows in London, Paris, LA, New York and Tokyo. Johnny Mackay and Ryan Ceasar have once again joined forces for their fourth studio album, adding live bassist Chelsea Wheatley to their meteoric live shows.

Recorded by Loren Humphrey at Diamond Mine & Stockholm Syndrome in New York City, both released singles Funeral for a Ghost and Trampoline are emblematic of what to expect from Time Itself – but even then, only to a degree. Much like there was more to The Long Now than Social Currency or more to Theory of Everything than Jellylegs, expect a complex and provocative rock record that explores wider spectrums and multitudes with the kind of fearlessness that put Children Collide on the map to begin with.

There's the snarling, Nirvana-esque Return to Femmes, the fuzzed-out charge of opener Man of the People and the twirling, acid-tinged Trampoline to contend with – the latter of which Mackay proudly describes as “one of my favourite songs I've ever written.” The sprawling six-and-a-half-minute wig-out of Mind Spider, too, serves as a strange bedfellow to the bouncy, mosh-ready Uh Oh – and yet, all of them make perfect sense as Children Collide songs.

Eraserhood Sound is proud to present Ribelle Di Mare in all its glory, produced and performed by house band Fantasy 15 in their signature “Synth & Soul” sound.
