St. Catherine
$13.98  11.98
St. Catherine is the 2015 album from Ducktails, the solo project of Real Estate's Matt Mondanile. It is by far his most accomplished album to date. The album is filled with his baroque pop flourishes and layered with his soothing, but sharp vocals. Recorded in Los Angeles and Berlin and mixed by Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Beck, FIDLAR), St. Catherine is a complex, moody work filled with yearning and lots of the gorgeous melodic fretwork for which Mondanile has become well known for with his work in Real Estate.

Roger Waters
Amused To Death: Remastered
An unblinking look at an entertainment-obsessed society, Amused to Death addresses issues that have only grown in complexity and urgency over the past two decades. With Amused to Death, Roger Waters sounded the alarm about a society increasingly and unthinkingly in thrall to its television screens. Twenty-three years later, Amused to Death speaks to our present moment in ways that could scarcely have been anticipated two decades ago. In 2015, television is just one option in an endless array of distractions available to us anytime, anywhere, courtesy of our laptops, tablets and smartphones. With eyes glued to our screens, the dilemmas and injustices of the real world can easily recede from view.

Grave Babies
Holographic Violence
$12.98  11.98
In the five years since Grave Babies’ debut album Deathface was released, founder Danny Wahlfeldt has been handling all songwriting and recording duties for the Seattle-based band, with invaluable help from friends in performing their material live. For their newest album entitled Holographic Violence, Wahlfeldt chose a different path, causing a significant change in the band’s overall sound. Holographic Violence is Grave Babies’ second Hardly Art full-length after Crusher (2013), and further explores the themes of nihilism, the pending doom of mankind, and shaming humanity, which the band has been building their gloomy reputation on since the beginning. This time however, instead of recording everything in his basement, Wahlfeldt enlisted the help of Bryce Brown (Crypts) on bass and Mark Gajadhar (Blood Brothers, Past Lives) on drums in the early stages of recording.

Strange Wilds
Subjective Concepts
$13.98  11.98
Strange Wilds is a musical power-trio from Olympia, Washington. There are three members: Allen, who plays drums; Sean, who plays bass; and Steven, who sings and plays the guitar. There is also a freight train, several buzzsaws, a banshee, and some heavy, heavy Pacific doom-and-gloom up in the mix. The group formed in 2012, when Steven met Sean while Sean’s band from Boise was playing a gig in a house where Steven lived. They became friends, and several months later Steven called Sean, who had just relocated to Olympia for college, to form the band. They were called Wet, and gigged around the West Coast as a four-piece. Allen was added as a full-time member in 2014 after a line-up change, and the band changed its name to Strange Wilds to release a 4-song EP and tour immediately. Sub Pop came calling, and signed the band last fall. The band is now set to release its full-length debut, Subjective Concepts, this summer.

Warren Haynes
Ashes & Dust
$15.98  13.98
Ashes and Dust is a masterful work of art and a particularly important statement for the Grammy Award winning artist Warren Haynes. The songs are immediately and clearly different from his usual style - encompassing beautiful acoustic arrangements, a rootsy/Americana soundscape and honeyed vocals that cut straight through to the soul. Knowing that he wanted to pursue a more folk-based approach on this project, he brought in the New Jersey-based Americana band Railroad Earth as collaborators.

Vinyl Williams

LA-based Lionel Williams is an internationally exhibited visual artist and musician who s been releasing music under his Vinyl Williams alias since 2010. As a result of experiencing religious and cultural dissonance growing up in the state of Utah, Williams reacts by creating dream worlds of religious & cultural harmony. It s through his art both musical, visual, and the music videos he s directed for bands like Tears for Fears and Unknown Mortal Orchestra that Williams projects himself well beyond the stasis of his youth, his metaphysical dream worlds in constant forward motion, with ancient mystical symbols, utopian architecture and exotic locales all enveloped in a rippling, VHS haze of psychedelia. These worlds are uniquely William s own; everything released under the Vinyl Williams project is written, performed and produced solely by multi-instrumentalist Lionel.

La Lianne Havas
$13.98  11.98
When touring for her debut album Is Your Love Big Enough? came to a close, Lianne La Havas headed to Jamaica with her mother for a long-awaited holiday that evolved into an experience of self-discovery. She enjoyed emotional reunions with long-lost relatives; embraced Kingston's clubs; and even jammed in front of her family for the first time during a session with legendary dancehall/reggae producer Stephen McGregor. Exploring her roots inspired La Havas's writing. Lyrically, she says, the songs she wrote are almost all related to "the feeling of who you are and where you come from." And musically, La Havas took inspiration from Jamaica's love of grooves, rhythms, and syncopation. McGregor ultimately joined in the making of Blood along with a rich collection of others, including Adele/FKA twigs collaborator Paul Epworth and Matt Hales of Aqualung.

FFS = Franz Ferdinand and Sparks Collaborations don’t work, or that’s what FFS would have us believe on their debut album. When the seminal Los Angeles duo Sparks and Glasgow-based quartet Franz Ferdinand decided to record together, it was a flawed and potentially disastrous idea, right? Wrong, as ‘FFS’ is one of the strongest albums of either bands’ career. Produced by Grammy-award winning John Congleton (St Vincent, David Byrne) at London’s RAK Studios, the album ‘FFS’ took 15 days to complete. 'Kimono My House'-era Sparks fans will recognize how ‘FFS’ highlights their classic ‘pop rock’ DNA, and Franz Ferdinand fans won’t be dissapointed to hear the band at their peak of their powers as they bring their exhilaratingly unique and witty modern rock sound to the collaboration.

Dream Outside
$13.98  11.98
While they bashfully describe their successes to date as 'happy accidents', there's clearly something greater at work behind Gengahr's rise. A timelessness that has captured the hearts of all they've come into contact with, last year's signing to independent Transgressive and the release of their debut album A Dream Outside are just the start. Comparisons to Radiohead are anything but reductive; there is sure to be a similarly twisting and enormous path ahead of this hypnotic North London quartet.

Recorded in White Reaper’s hometown of Louisville, KY, with engineer Kevin Ratterman (Young Widows, Coliseum), WRDIA is a pure rock ’n’ roll adrenaline shot: vicious guitar scratches, elastic bass, sugary keyboard leads, and a thudding drums that will inevitably give your heartbeat a new rhythm.

Camera Shy
Camera Shy
$12.98  11.98
Before they came to be known as Camera Shy, Nick Bassett and Alexandra Morte had been working on crafting warm weather indie pop indebted with influence to the Smiths, the Sundays and Sarah Records catalogs while the pair made loud, shoegazing punk together in Bassett’s band, Whirr. While the Bay Area act has moved onto a darker terrain since Morte’s departure, she and Bassett have remained a creative unit that serves as a brighter outlet to contrast the caustic dreariness Whirr indulges. Camera Shy’s first exhale of melancholy bedroom pop arrived properly on last year’s Jack-O-Lantern EP, and now, Bassett and Morte refine their soft start with their eponymous debut full-length for Run for Cover Records.

Their fifth Smithsonian Folkways title, Tradición, Arte y Pasión drinks from the well of the expansive “golden age” of mariachi music in the 1940s and 1950s to artfully conjure a sound as fresh and contemporary today as it was then. New, yet old, and exploiting the broad, sonorous palette of mariachi instrumentation, the album reflects Cano’s musical approach: “love, dedication, discipline, pride—and be aggressive.”

The Domestics
The Domestics
$12.98  11.98
What separates The Domestics from the escapism of so many other indie pop acts is the fearlessness with which Michael Finn and Leo London confront their own pain. London's birth parents both battled with drug addiction in his early childhood before he was adopted by his grandparents at the age of two. Finn's trials came later on, struggling with health issues, depression and dependency in his early adult years. Writing in the aftermath of infidelity, mental illness, substance abuse and child abuse, Finn and London have wrought songs as moving as they are catchy and as honest as they are loud. What The Domestics provide that so many other bands do not is something which all listeners can relate to: vulnerability.

Between The Buried And Me
Coma Ecliptic
$15.98  13.98
Grandiose, dynamic, heavy, melodic, technically challenging: these are all words that fall equally short when trying to describe Between the Buried and Me's sonic offerings. When tasked with explaining the band's previous effort, The Parallax II: Future Sequence, Decibel Magazine claimed that the album "offers more substance than most bands put forth in entire careers" and Metal Hammer simply stated that it was "utterly captivating." Where does a burgeoning progressive act go from there? The answer is found in their seventh full-length album, Coma Ecliptic. Spanning just over an hour, the album stands as a significant step in the evolution for the group as a whole, as well as the individual musicians: vocalist / keyboardist Tommy Rogers, guitarists Paul Waggoner and Dustie Waring, bassist Dan Briggs, and drummer Blake Richardson.

The long awaited album Myrki Heima will see its worldwide release July 10, 2015.

Calling Out
$14.98  12.98
It wouldn't be entirely accurate to say that EZTV met while trying out for J. Spaceman's latest US touring line-up of Spiritualized, but it's not far from the truth. Songwriter Ezra Tenenbaum had been casually working on solo home recordings in the vein of Shoes, Emitt Rhodes and Cleaners For Venus, and, in a desire to round things out, he enlisted bassist Shane O'Connell and drummer Michael Stasiak (formerly of Widowspeak). As it happened, the trio's first chance to play together was an audition for the American touring version of Spiritualized (they didn't get the job). But, the trio kept meeting and working, turning Ezra recording as a solo artist into Ezra, Shane and Michael playing as a band; thus, EZTV was formed.

Owl City
Mobile Orchestra
$13.95  11.95
No matter where he goes, Owl City mastermind Adam Young is constantly creating music. It doesn t matter if he s backstage before a gig or sitting in an airport terminal, the singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist is penning music like a symphony on the go. He nods to that process with his third studio album, aptly titled Mobile Orchestra. Featuring unexpected collaborations with Aloe Blacc, Hanson, Jake Owen and more, the album stems from Adam s creative ability to forget what he knows, clear the slate and curate an entirely new experience. Mobile Orchestra follows in the footsteps of Owl City s impressive album sales topping 2.5 million and single sales surpassing 18 million globally (including smash hits Good Time and Fireflies which hit #1 in 26 countries).

United Nations
United Nations
$14.98  12.98
Originally released in 2008, United Nations' eponymous debut album was destined for commercial controversy from the moment it was announced. The anticipation surrounding its release was at a fever pitch as rumors circulated that the enigmatic band's all-star lineup included members of Thursday, Glassjaw, and Converge. When the album finally dropped, its lawsuit-baiting artwork — essentially the originally cover of The Beatles' Abbey Road album, with all of the Beatles engulfed in flames — immediately forced at least one major mall retail chain (rhymes with Not Tropic) to destroy all of the several thousands of copies it had ordered. The album's entire pressing was then recalled and destroyed, to be finally deleted with demise of its original label and unavailable as a physical release until now.

Planes Mistaken For Stars
Slim Twig
Thanks For Stickin' With Twig
$14.98  12.98
Thank You For Stickin' With Twig is the latest long-playing album from the artist known to the world (or at least to his mother) as Slim Twig. Coming out July 10th, 2015 on DFA, you may be surprised to know that it represents the fifth album by the Toronto based songwriter / producer. Twig has released these previous records among a swath of EP's, singles and one-offs, displaying in the process a complete disregard for genre or consistency. The evolution from Contempt!, his sample-stained 2009 debut, through to A Hound At The Hem, his symphonic tribute album to Nabokov's Lolita (reissued by DFA in 2014), is not entirely linear, although intriguing all the same. Thank You For Stickin' With Twig is to date the most sonically immersive album in Twig's discography.

‘Delilah' is Anderson East's debut album, produced by Dave Cobb.

Beautiful Bodies
$15.98  13.98
For Beautiful Bodies, it all ultimately comes down to one thing: Energy. The new Epitaph signing’s unapologetically loud-and-hooky music and their fabulously chaotic live shows stem directly from an all-consuming desire to tap into the cosmic power grid, and channel it full-force to the world at large. Singer Alicia Solombrino and guitarist Thomas Becker first crossed paths in hometown Kansas City, where soon they were attracting the attention of local radio, who began to air their hook-laden demos, not to mention local fans, who swelled their shows to the point where the band began to land prestigious opening slots for Smashing Pumpkins and My Chemical Romance.

Gossamer is Evan Reiner—the producer, guitarist, synthesizer scientist and urban-spelunking field recorder whose full-length debut Automaton dissolves the genre-breaking electronica of Autechre and Boards of Canada into a bottomless sea of found sound and ambient atmosphere. It’s less an album than an environment all its own, or a journey into the unexplored.
