Phantom Brickworks is a project that Bibio has been working on for a while, inspired by places with an industrial history - the title referring to the ghosts of this activity living on in the landscape today. This completely instrumental output presents itself with the weight of a cinematic score, the ambient and drone arrangements looping to draw listeners into this emotionally affecting world of sound. Deviating from the more pop-eschewing songwriting of his recent releases, this album showcases Bibios immense talents as a musician. Appealing to diehard Bibio fans eager to see him stretch his artistic muscles, as well as fans of artists like Grouper, Olafur Arnalds, Basinski, Nils Frahm, Max Richter, and Johann Johannsson.

Sex. Violence. Other?' (2005) and ‘Pull The Pin' (2007). ‘Scream Above The Sounds' was primarily recorded in the band's HQ in west London with a further session at RAK Studios. Created with the help of regular collaborator Jim Lowe, it's an album in which creative sonic touches add to the band's emphasis on songwriting and melody

Just the Beginning is the debut full length album from singer/songwriter phenomenon Grace VanderWaal. Her eagerly anticipated album has been preceded by the lead track and video, "Moonlight," along with the beat-driven song "Sick of Being Told," and "So Much More Than This." The single "Moonlight" has received critical praise from Billboard, who called it the "perfect summer song," and The New York Times, who noted that Grace is a "pop natural" and the single "sounds like steroidal bluegrass-inflected space-pop," among others.
In addition to writing all the songs for Just The Beginning, Grace also worked with multiple award winning producers and writers such as Ido Zmishlany (Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello), Kinetics & One Love (Hailee Steinfeld), Greg Wells (Katy Perry, Adele), Gregg Wattenberg (Train, Phillips Phillips) and Sean Douglas (The Chainsmokers, Demi Lovato).
Grace captured the hearts of America when she was crowned the champion of America's Got Talent Season 11, and her new album was announced on the one year anniversary of her winning the competition. She has continued to engage fans of all ages, and preceded the release of Just The Beginning with appearances on America's Got Talent, Live with Kelly and Ryan, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Kid Rock unveils his new album “Sweet Southern Sugar” featuring 10 new studio tracks including “Po-Dunk”, “Greatest Show On Earth” and his current Country radio single “Tennessee Mountain Top”. The single brings out a Country infused southern rock spirit that has drawn Country fans to Kid Rock for almost two decades since he released the CMA, ACM nominated “Picture.” Both “Picture” and his massive summer anthem “All Summer Long” continue to be fan favorites at Country Radio. A five time Grammy nominee with over 26 million albums sold to date, Kid Rock has consistently blazed his own trail. His career intersected early with Country audiences and created a connection that has continued to grow each year. He has been twice nominated for CMA Awards, “Picture” with Sheryl Crow (2003) and “Can’t You See” with Zac Brown Band (2010). This October 6th and 7th he will host Kid Rock’s Third Annual Fish Fry in Nashville, yet another sign of his close ties to Nashville and Country Music. Since the spontaneous release of his two most recent tracks in July, “Po-Dunk” and “Greatest Show On Earth” and their accompanying videos, Kid Rock has been at the center of media coverage speculation as to his musical and personal ambitions. While others speculate, the artist known for his slew of American anthems and his explosive live shows has been busy touring and preparing for an epic series of concerts opening Detroit’s new Little Caesars Arena. Not only is he the maiden act for the venue, he recently announced that the venue will play host to his own Made in Detroit restaurant to open on the Woodward Avenue side of Little Caesars Arena. Expect a nationwide tour to be announced soon.
Country superstar Blake Shelton remains firmly rooted as a proud Oklahoman with his forthcoming album, Texoma Shore. “Lake Texoma has always been a place of great memories, new and old,” said Shelton. “I literally recorded this album here at its shore so it’s full circle to have the love of this place and the love of country music come together here.” Texoma Shore follows in the footsteps of Shelton’s last album, If I’m Honest, which was the best-selling country album released in 2016. That album earned Shelton a number of awards, including Top Country Artist at the Billboard Music Awards in May.So what can fans expect to hear on Texoma Shore? According to Shelton: “When you listen to the record it will go from something traditional to something that will make your head spin back to something even more traditional. That’s just what you can expect from one of my albums. At this point in my career it’s always good for me to try something different, with different sounds, and I think you'll hear hints of that on this record. I've explored about every part of country music you can explore and it seems like I always keep coming back to my roots, which is traditional country music. I love great songs and there are so many talented writers in Nashville, but I do have a song on the album that I wrote and I'm very proud of it.”

LIIMA was born as much of breaking old habits as building new ones, and their second album, 1982 (co-produced with Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear), provides a masterclass in pushing beyond comfort zones. 1982 was written during four residencies, beginning in January, 2016 at The London Edition. They reassembled at another hotel in Copenhagen before embarking upon tours of North and South America. They d reconvene between trips to continue work, first in a music conservatory in Viseu, Portugal and then finally in August at Berlin s Michelberger Hotel. By the time they gathered in Mankku Studios in Porvoo in the Finnish countryside LIIMA were more than ready to begin recording with Chris Taylor as co-producer. 1982 finds LIIMA - musically and lyrically exploring themes that shaped their youth while looking forward to a future which is as uncertain as it ever might have been Here the musicians stake their claim firmly to both their new name and their new sound. For a band originally founded upon enthusiastic acts of spontaneity, 1982 represents a huge, sophisticated leap forward. The decision to form LIIMA was as bold as their new sound, and the results speak for themselves.
2017 release. Fiery roots-rock singer/songwriter Scott Miller presents Ladies Auxiliary, his first album in four years, via his own F.A.Y. Recordings. Raised on a cattle farm in Virginia, and well- versed in topics ranging from Greek mythology to modernist poetry, Miller's smart songwriting has long been admired by his peers. A founding member of Knoxville-based V-Roys, Miller's raucous style influenced the newer generation of Alt-Country revelry and what is now known as Americana. The album title is a tip of the hat to Miller's backing band for this recording: Bryn Davies (bass); Rayna Gilbert (fiddle / banjo); Jen Gunderman (keys); Deanie Richardson (fiddle); Megan Carchman (drums) and Anne McCue (guitar and producer). The results are another testament to Scott's uncanny ability to reach the listener with tuneful melodies wrapped around thoughtul lyrics and topical subject matter: Lo Siento, Spanishburg, WVA is an instant classic. And Epic Love kicks things off with an epic bang.

Of the forthcoming album, Lee says, "Writing this record was a personal and vulnerable experience. Every song is a snapshot of who I am right now. I've labored over every word and every note, and I can't wait to share it." As you listen through, you'll hear themes of family, love, traditions, ties-that-bind and the American ideals of quality and hard work, all wrapped up in rich tones, textured instrumentation and, Lee's evocative vocal.
Mezzo-soprano Marianne Crebassa and pianist Fazıl Say share some tantalising, captivating and sensuousSecretsin this album of songs, centred on Debussy’sTrois Chansons de Bilitis, Ravel’sShéhérazadeand Fazıl Say’s ownGezi Park 3– which he and Crebassa premiered in 2014. Describing the recording sessions, Marianne Crebassa says: “Sometimes we worked in a kind of trance … there were some moments when nothing seemed to exist around us …”Secretsincludes Debussy’s discreetly eroticTrois Chansons de Bilitis, settings of texts by Pierre Louÿs that were inspired by ancient Greek literature, and Ravel’s sumptuousShéhérazade, three contrasting songs that conjure up exotic moods rather than retelling the stories of the1001 Nights. They are joined by a work by Fazıl Say that is inspired by his native Turkey, but which moves away from the spirit of legend and fantasy:Gezi Park 3belongs to a series of works that he composed in response to the momentous civil protests that took place in in Istanbul in June 2013. Say and Crebassa gave its premiere in Bremen in September 2014, where it was heard as a ‘Ballad for mezzo-soprano, piano and orchestra’. Crebassa’s part is a wordless vocalise and the work is recorded here in a version for voice and piano.

Five years since their last release, Converge return with The Dusk In Us: a brutal but beautiful album that shows the band’s artistic evolution while still capturing their classic sound. The ninth full-length from the Boston-based heavy-music innovators—vocalist Jacob Bannon, guitarist Kurt Ballou, bassist Nate Newton, and drummer Ben Koller—The Dusk In Us proves to be both dark and hopeful, abrasive and melodic, devastating and powerfully cathartic. In recording The Dusk In Us, Converge once again worked in Ballou’s renowned Godcity Studios in Salem, Massachusetts. Produced by the band and mixed by Ballou, the album matches its raw energy with a subculture-crossing inventiveness that’s earned Converge longtime reverence within the punk, metal, and hardcore scenes. One of Converge’s most dynamic and avant-garde albums to date, The Dusk In Us unfolds with an uncompromising honesty born from “writing about experiences in my life and working through the complexities of those things through song,” as Bannon explains. On the album-opening “A Single Tear,” pummeling drums and caustic riffs form the backdrop to strikingly vulnerable lyrics like “When I held you for the first time/I knew I had to survive.” (“‘A Single Tear’ is about becoming a parent, and the perspective and strength it can give,” Bannon notes.) With its abrasive guitar work and menacing undertones, “Under Duress” brings a tortured howl to lyrics channeling what Bannon describes as “my emotional reaction to the complex world in which we live.” A frenzied blast of pure fury, “I Can Tell You About Pain” offers what NPR recently hailed as “hardcore-fueled extreme music that simultaneously elevates and destroys.” And on the seven-minute-plus title track to The Dusk in Us, Converge deliver a slow-building, quietly haunting epic of ethereal beauty. Converge formed in Massachusetts in 1990, then made their debut with 1994’s Halo in a Haystack. Soon regarded as pioneers within the aggressive music arena, the band had a major breakthrough with their landmark album Jane Doe—a 2001 release praised as “iconic” by the A.V. Club (who also noted that Jane Doe “reaches canonical status with every re-listen”). The Dusk In Us arrives as the follow-up to 2012’s All We Love We Leave Behind, an album that Consequence Of Sound called “as skull-cleaving as it is beautiful” and that made its way onto Pitchfork’s Best New Music list. While The Dusk In Us finds Converge defying boundaries and pushing into new sonic terrain, it’s also a natural progression for a band that’s long thrived on making music that both challenges and connects. “Our only goal is to create something that moves us and resonates with us emotionally,” says Bannon. “For us, it’s simply a new album about new chapters in our lives. We are a very ‘human’ band—always have been—and our songs are all rooted in our real-life experiences. The Dusk In Us is that new chapter, just as previous records were before that.”
Initially released on CD in 2003, and now available on vinyl for the first time. Unearthed was produced by Rick Rubin and features outtakes and alternate versions of songs recorded for American Recordings, Unchained, American III: Solitary Man and American IV: The Man Comes Around. The fourth disc, My Mother's Hymn Book features gospel songs Cash first learned from his mother as a child, and the final album is a best of the first four American albums.
Annihilator’s brand-new album “For The demented” promises to pack a premier punch. Thrash/Heavy Metal Legends to release 16th studio album on November 3rd, 2017 Since 1989, Canada’s ANNIHILATOR have not stopped putting out records and touring the world. Despite the ever-changing climate of the Metal World (and releasing a series of “different” Metal records with various lineups along the way), Jeff Waters and company have consistently delivered strong albums since the band’s debut “Alice In Hell”. Then there was 1990’s best-selling “Never, Neverland”, 1995’s “King of The Kill”, “Schizo Deluxe” in 2005 and many other critically-acclaimed releases up until 2015’s “Suicide Society.” The ‘under-the-radar’ influence of this band and writer/guitarist/vocalist Jeff Waters, has been felt throughout the entire realm of the metal world by a ton of well-known musicians and bands; that influence even stretching into the hard rock and instrumentalist genre. ANNIHILATOR’s main man Jeff Waters, in his usual humble manner, offers this in response: “ANNIHILATOR’s music has been influenced by a good hundred of my favorite bands and musicians; you can hear their contributions to what I have been doing all throughout ANNIHILATOR’s catalogue. It’s a bonus and an honor when bands and musicians I love mention that I had something to do with their playing or songs!” Which all leads to the fact that ANNIHILATOR’S 16th studio release, “For The Demented”, is certainly their most complete and definitive statement yet. “It was time to analyze what a lot of fans over the years have kept telling me,” says Waters. “It was time to sit down and figure out “why” ANNIHILATOR’s early “thrash-meets-melodic” caught the ears of so many AND to try to sweep the “fan” part of my writing/playing/singing out the door and welcome back the mostly-original Waters writing that was to be the first four ANNIHILATOR albums.” Waters didn’t venture back alone, while looking back through ANNIHILATOR’S history. “I was well aware that trying to re-capture the past usually fails, or at least won’t come close. So, I decided to bring in fresh ears, both musically and physically with Rich Hinks, my bassist for the last few years. And doing most all of the records by myself, including writing and playing most all on my own, as well as mixing, mastering, engineering, etc…, well it can become routine and can often hinder you from being objective and more creative. Rich came in and co-wrote the music with me, as well as co-produced the beginning stages of the record. His background of classic thrash metal meets a newer “math” metal style was the perfect combination for me to simply ask, “what do you think of this?” He would most-often reply with “not the ANNIHILATOR style I like”, so we would keep going until we both felt that core ANNIHILATOR riffing and writing style presented itself. “Bottom line, “For The Demented” captures some feel from ANNIHILATOR’s 1985-87 demos mixed with the first 4 ANNIHILATOR records. Back to the thrash meets melody but with some pure Waters guitar riffing, up-graded lead guitar shredding and vocals back to the demo-days meets the “King of The Kill” record. Lyrically, I placed a theme on the record: the human mind and all of its glory, complexity, diversity, weaknesses and insanity! Pretty much the craziness of the music is matched by the lyrics.” “I think Metal Fans are going to hear much of what they have been waiting for from ANNIHILATOR.” FOR THE DEMENTED will be released via Neverland Music/Silver Lining Music on November 3rd, 2017 and will be available in a Limited Edition Digipack with a Lenticular cover, a jewel-case CD, a 12” 180gms coloured vinyl in a gatefold and digital download.
2017 release. An exuberant meeting of the musical minds and souls, Pickin', with 10 Dawg compositions (five of which are newly written) is just the beginning of what promises to be an important, long-awaited and historic musical friendship. Tommy Emmanuel and David Grisman had admired each other's music for years but their paths had never crossed. That changed in January, 2014 when their mutual friend, the brilliant Scottish guitarist Martin Taylor, invited David to sit in at his concert with the world-renowned, Tommy Emmanuel. Going forward to 2016, Tommy invited David to participate in a recording project of his in Nashville, whereupon he asked him to teach him some "Dawg" tunes. Within the hour, they had recorded five of David's tunes and the seeds of this recording were sown. An exuberant meeting of the musical minds and souls, Pickin', with 10 Dawg compositions is just the beginning of what promises to be an important, longawaited and historic musical friendship.
Dark Metal's finest art project MOONSPELL outclasses all standards with their colossal new release "1755". The twelfth record from these Portuguese gothic masters is an orchestral adventure including siren like choirs with a Wagnerian pomp! Strings, bongos, oriental singing, grand guitars are just a tiny part of this amazing piece of work. From the first superincumbent second, the conceptual dramaturgy of MOONSPELL's work feels like a detonation of the mind. Playful and mean-spirited. "1755" is their magnum opus. This musical masterpiece represents the year of horror where a giant earthquake wrecked their home of Lisbon. Naturally this album is sang completely in Portuguese. The album features Paulo Bragança, supplying a hauntingly voice of a Fado fallen angel who is a big part of the Portuguese culture. His fascinating vocals are featured in "In Tremor Dei" (eng.: "Fear Of God"). "1755" is an adventure in medieval landscapes full of threats, guarded by stirring hymns including the bad luck "Desastre". Choirs filled with fear stab into the wild disharmony of the guitars. The album is emotionally, technically and completely breathtaking!
Americana/folk rock band The Contenders follow up their 2014 release ‘Meet The Contenders’ with their first full length studio album ‘Laughing with the Reckless’. Lady luck had introduced singer songwriter Jay Nash and singer and drummer Josh Day in Los Angeles over a decade ago when they bonded over a shared love of The Band, roots music and a sacred admiration for the great American songbook. As their paths continued to cross over the years, collaboration, they concluded, would be inevitable. Together as The Contenders, the pair make the sort of music found in the intricate and varied tapestry that is real Americana - full of grit, with a steady heartbeat and a hint of honky-tonk – writing songs that speak of wanderers and highways, lovers and losers, good times and missed chances, all of it with a ferocity born of hard work and honed skill. Country Weekly have said “The duo’s sound paints a picture of open stretches of road as well as lazy days at home – sonic comfort food constructed on a bed of groove and storytelling.” The Contenders’ raucous foundation of rhythm and harmony is finding unmistakable resonance with audiences. ‘Laughing with the Reckless’ is very much about the perseverance of hope in dark times along with the powerful connection of music, old friends and loved ones, all delivered with a wry and wistful narrative. So, sit back, pour yourself a glass of something good and meet The Contenders.
Producer, arranger and musician Jake Savona (pka Mista Savona) brought together a stellar assortment of Cuban and Jamaican musicians to create this collection of re-interpreted classics and original songs as a soundtrack to an upcoming documentary of the same title. Havana Meets Kingston is a tour through these two historic island nations highlighting the common ground between the two, through rhythm and culture.
